Our 2024 Annual Report

2024 has been a year of change, and at Bristol Energy Network, we’ve expanded our team, launched our Energy Champion programme, engaged with communities across the region around owning their own onshore wind projects, and we’ve supported hundreds of people with their energy bills - offering advice and resources to help them.

We’ve worked with local authorities, key partners, offered support to key community organisations, and connected with members to address the barriers our city and region faces in leading the energy transition. 

Throughout the year, we’ve been collecting stories from those we’ve engaged, as well as our impact and reach, and we’re thrilled to be able to share our 2024 Annual Report with you.

Highlights included in the report:

• Our new website, branding, and communications

• The expansion of our team to 4 full-time personnel

• Impact map and numbers of people we’ve engaged 

• £1.5 million funding for our community onshore wind programme, with 304 direct engagements around community owned energy in the wider region and three community energy organisations partnered

• 123 Energy Champions registered, 43 have booked Energy Traces as part of the Transforming Energy Together programme

• 134 people engaged at our Green Open Homes events, around greener tech and improvements they can make to their homes
